ClipRender ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform and services.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: email address, name, and password when you create an account
- Payment information: billing details processed securely through Stripe (we do not store your full credit card number)
- Content: media files (videos, images, audio) you upload to the platform, editing rules you create, and video outputs generated by the Service
- Communications: information you provide when contacting our support team, submitting feedback, or responding to surveys
- Presale information: purchase details and contact information when you participate in our presale offer
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, actions taken within the platform, render history, and search queries
- Device information: browser type, operating system, device type, and screen resolution
- Log data: IP address, access times, and referring URLs
- Analytics data: aggregated usage patterns collected through PostHog (see Third-Party Processors below)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the ClipRender platform
- Process payments and manage your subscription or presale purchase
- Analyze and index your uploaded media using AI to power the asset library and video generation features
- Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, purchase confirmations, render notifications)
- Send product updates, launch announcements, and marketing communications (you can opt out at any time)
- Improve the Service through aggregated usage analytics
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, and security threats
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Third-Party Processors
We share your information with the following third-party service providers who process data on our behalf:

We may also use additional infrastructure providers (such as AWS for cloud storage and compute, Cloudflare for DNS and CDN, and Netlify for hosting) that process data as part of delivering the Service. These providers act as sub-processors under our data processing agreements.
4. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specifically:
- Account data: retained while your account is active and for 30 days after account deletion
- Uploaded content: retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion, content is permanently removed within 30 days
- Render outputs: available for download via presigned URLs with configurable expiration. Expired outputs are retained in cold storage for 90 days before permanent deletion
- Payment records: retained for 7 years to comply with tax and financial regulations
- Analytics data: aggregated analytics are retained indefinitely. Individual session data is retained for 12 months
5. Your Rights
For Users in the European Economic Area (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights:
- Right of access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
- Right to erasure: request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Right to data portability: request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Right to restrict processing: request that we limit how we use your data
- Right to object: object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing
For Users in California (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- Right to know: request details about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected
- Right to delete: request deletion of personal information we have collected from you
- Right to opt-out: opt out of the sale of personal information. Note: ClipRender does not sell personal information to third parties
- Right to non-discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights

6. Cookies and Tracking
ClipRender uses the following types of cookies and tracking technologies:
- Essential cookies: required for authentication, session management, and core platform functionality. These cannot be disabled
- Analytics cookies: used by PostHog to collect anonymized usage data to help us improve the Service. You can opt out of analytics tracking through your account settings
We do not use third-party advertising cookies or trackers. We do not participate in cross-site tracking or retargeting networks.
7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256)
- Secure authentication with hashed passwords and session management through Supabase
- Row-level security (RLS) policies to ensure strict data isolation between users and workspaces
- Regular security audits and monitoring
- Content moderation on uploaded media using automated screening
While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to security@cliprender.io.
8. Children's Privacy
ClipRender is not directed at children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@cliprender.io.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. Our servers and third-party processors operate in the United States and other jurisdictions. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your data during cross-border transfers.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and, where appropriate, sending you an email notification. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
